Leaving the doctor’s office yesterday I held the elevator door for an elderly couple. After the usual “Thank you”and “You’re welcome” I noticed the gentleman was wearing a “Veterans of Foreign Wars” baseball cap. I like to thank veterans, so I shook his hand and offered “Thank you for your service.” His face beamed and and we talked on the elevator ride down to the main floor. Parting ways I could tell it really made his day – it certainly made mine.
It is an easy thing to do for someone that volunteered his or her life for your liberty, and in the process you might just make someone’s day that much better.
Only once a year does our country celebrate Veterans Day,
but any day of the year you can make a Veteran’s Day.

Thank a Veteran whenever you get the chance.
