Making plans with 11g and not leaving them behind

This paper has a brief description of SQL Plans, the SMB, and why and how you migrate them between databases. It sucks to do a bunch of work, and then leave it behind. This was published in the RMOUG SQL>UPDATE Summer 2011 Newsletter.

Getting Dedicated with Shared Servers, and how not to

This paper specifically details issues I had with Oracle 10g/11g Shared Server functionality when running on Linux servers using HP Service Guard for failover. I had all the shared server functionality configured, but still got dedicated connections. This was published in the RMOUG SQL>UPDATE Summer 2009 Newsletter.

This paper demonstrates configuration of Oracle 11g Data  Guard Physical standby.  It details the steps to set up a basic configuration and includes some items not covered by the manual and other catches I found. This was published in the RMOUG SQL>UPDATE Summer 2010 Newsletter.
